M.E.T.A. Introductory Courses

M.E.T.A. offers a wide range of introductory workshops and classes, both for professionals and the general community, designed to introduce M.E.T.A. to people not yet familiar with our programs. Some provide an introduction to M.E.T.A., while others address specific clinical topics and skills, or provide opportunities for personal development. Some focus on one of the specific components that comprise M.E.T.A. – Hakomi, The Re-Creation of the Self (R-CS), Interpersonal Neurobiology, Trauma, or Attachment – while others combine these to explore a particular theme from multiple perspectives. They often have specific topics (e.g., "Mindfulness, the Body & Love"; "Change, Neurobiology & Limbic Feeling States", “The Unbroken Client,” "Mindfulness as a Window into Heart & Soul"). All employ the careful use of mindfulness and hands-on learning to provide participants with powerful tools and experiences for both working and living. All offer unique theories and skills to practitioners, and give an introductory experience of the M.E.T.A. training approach, teachers and trainers. All serve as prerequisites for our four training programs (Counselor & Therapist, Professionals Transitioning into Counseling, Allied Health & Healing Practitioners, and Personal Growth). Finally, all offer CEUs for licensed professionals whose licensing boards accept NBCC approved hours. Tuition ranges between $99-$199, and we offer a 25% graduate student and registered intern discount.

Falling Awake: an R-CS Immersion in Living from an Awakened Loving State

with Jon Eisman Director, Mindful Experiential Therapy Approaches

TO BE IN LOVE ALL THE TIME: with yourself, with others, with every moment of your life as it blossoms within and around you. To live openhearted, unafraid, welcoming the next experience as an adventure, and then the next...

WHAT STOPS YOU ? what are the million ways you find to keep from living there? what are the voices in your head, the whispers in your heart, the tensions, the memories, the habits, fears and fantasies that always seem to keep you from where you wish to be, to where you already are if only you would...

THIS WORKSHOP IS A PATH...through one deceptively "simple" interactive exercise, you and a partner are invited to move into a state of Awakened Lovingness - not abstract or imagined, but actual, immediate, in the present moment. You are invited and you will go, and learn how to live there. Or you will not go, and you will study how you stop yourself. A "simple" exercise, over and over, supported by unique experiments, mindfulness, movement, staff facilitation... A path into Lovingness, or into how you turn away. And then you are invited again. Into Lovingness, Falling Awake into Lovingness, into where you already are if only you would...
