M.E.T.A. for Body Workers

$2,400.00

This training integrates the Hakomi Method of mindfulness-based, body-centered psychotherapy with table work. The curriculum emphasizes applying mindfulness-based techniques to body therapies, specific ethical issues around body therapists’ scope of practice, enhancement of interpersonal skills as a healing practitioner, safely processing intense emotions, learning about how trauma impacts the mind and the body, and knowing when and to whom to refer. Classes are taught through short-talks, unique, skill-based experiential exercises, supervised practice, and demonstrations. Participants can expect a low student-teacher ratio, a relaxed and participatory learning environment and numerous opportunities to practice new skills with other group members.
