Description: The M.E.T.A. Professional Skills Training modules use a thematic approach to teach the essential theory and techniques of the Hakomi Method, The Re-Creation of the Self Model of Human Systems, integrated trauma interventions, and advanced maps for enhancing therapeutic understanding and strategy. Module Four is a unified approach to trauma which offers a practical synthesis of trauma and attachment models. It provides both an integrated framework and immediately applicable skills for working with Neurological Trauma. Among the topics presented will be the following: assessment; recognizing the signs of activation; safety concerns; distinguishing neurological from developmental trauma; pacing and titration of experience; the pursuit of self-regulation; PTSD considerations; interventions for the somatic release of trauma; vicarious and therapist self-care; and when to refer.
